Is it a Concussion?
The human brain represents approximately
*  2% of our body weight
*  15% of our cardiac output
*  20% of our oxygen consumption

And unfortunately - doesn't respond well to trauma.

Concussions are serious injuries, many times over or under diagnosed - or missed entirely.  If the concussion is identified and treated, the injury can heal.  Failure to diagnose a concussion places the injured victim at great risk.  Repeated injury, prior to the initial injury healing, can lead to additional and more serious symptoms, prolonged healing time, and even catastrophic "Second Impact Syndrome".  BioDirection will soon introduce an answer.
